During the past 5 years Westhawk have worked closely
with Greater Manchester's Tourist Board, designing,
developing and refining their Destination Management
System (DMS) that provides content to drive many of
their online and offline marketing initiatives.
Westhawk have worked with the local, regional and national tourism authorities, to ensure that any development of the DMS complies with the national standards as set by VisitBritain as part of the EnglandNet project. This enables our client to successfully upload their data to the VisitBritain and EnjoyEngland websites, increasing the visibility of their product to a broader audience. Westhawk Ltd has successfully attained EnglandNet Supplier Accreditation standard and continues to contribute to the project as a Technical Partner. Westhawk have designed several bespoke administration tools for Marketing Manchester that enable the organisation to input and export their data in a variety of ways. The tools are deployed online to enable information on accommodation, conference venues, attractions, events and eating out, to be gathered and input by a variety of tourism bodies located across the region. The information is generally used to drive online publications, however several bespoke pages were built to enable the export of data in a user friendly format for use by the Graphic Designers producing the printed publications. Our work with the Tourist Board has also included integration of accommodation data from the DMS with www.LateRooms.com, providing real time accommodation booking functionality within the context of rich, accurate and up-to-date tourism content. |
